After discovering my love for the tiny travel trailers several years ago, I got serious about finding one of my own in the winter of 2019. It took a year of scouring Craigslist, Kijiji, and Facebook Marketplace before I found one that was in okay shape and accompanied by an okay price tag. Before finding my trailer I went to see some that I later found out had severe leakage problems, or mold, or were just out of my budget, and by the fall I was ready to give up. Up until then I was focusing on finding a trailer that was no more than a few hours drive, which I didn't realize was limiting my options. That's when I decided to take a chance and search for Bolers a province over in Alberta. That was the ticket! Within my first month of searching I found a seller that was waiting for the right buy, and had an amazing 1976 Boler to sell at a reasonable price. It was almost too good to be true. On March 11, 2020 I put a down payment on the trailer and I eagerly waited till the highways would be safe enough for our trip to Red Deer. Except it really was too good to be true...

Not a week after sending my downpayment, the threat of Covid-19 sent Canada (and the rest of the world) into lockdown. Travel restrictions made it impossible to get my new treasure and we had no idea how long we would have to wait. While everyone was scrambling to find projects to do around the house, I was bummed that my project was over 10 hours away. Finally, the struggles of picking up my trailer came to a close. On the May long weekend, all the stars aligned and we were able to make the trip!
I am forever thankful to the seller for loving this trailer and preserving it so well. These pieces of Canadian history are fading fast and those that get to experience them are truly lucky.
